| Bio: | Work: I lead and coordinate the web community for the Government of Ontario and manage the main government website (Ontario.ca). Consequently, I'm often seen as the "go to guy" by many on Web questions. With the latest interest in "Government 2.0", and the use of Web 2.0 technologies to improve communications, policy development, service delivery and internal operations, that is increasingly becoming the focus of my workday. Family: I am married with two children: Toby (age 7) and Rosie (age 4). My beautiful, intelligent and creative wife, Tara, produces a science fiction romance adventure comic: GALAXION. It was a print comic in the 90s, now it is a webcomic. Hobbies/Interests: My interests in science fiction, comics and webcomics are a given, and a natural outgrowth of what is going on at home. I've been involved in Internet culture since before there was a Web (when I first started using the web, the only browser was called "www", it could only be accessed through telnet, and all you could get to through it was CERN). I have an interest in medieval re-creation, with a particular focus on calligraphy and illumination and culinary research and practice. I've been neglecting these interests rather more than I'd like of late. Finally, contra dancing (and english country dancing) has become something of a passion for Tara and I over the past year and a half or so. We attend regularly in Toronto and try to plan our vacations and travel so that we can attend dances elsewhere. | |||||||
